3 Rules for Romance when You Road Trip
Because Love is Always an Adventure
I use to think of road trips as long drives to national treasures, like the World’s Biggest Ball of Yarn. Ha! But now, that Mr. Mag and I have been married for little over a year, I’m finding that driving all over the state is kinda romantic, especially when we hold onto these 3 simple rules:
1.Eat NEW & Good Food. Delicious food not only activates pleasure sensors in your brain, there’s something magical about a good meal + a hot babe that creates all sorts of warm and fuzzies. Ricky and I always joke that the #1 reason we knew we were destined to be together forever is because: we love the same foods! No joke. When cake tasting 50 flavors for our wedding, we told the baker at the exact same time the top 2 flavors we both wanted in the cake! Strawberry Champagne and Orange Creamsicle forever, baby!
This place was not only delicious with all it’s fresh and local ingredients – it was also super friendly! Thanks to the Welcome Diner for the best broccolini we’ve ever had! *Make sure you try their fried green tomato sandwich too! Yum!

2. Talk about Your Memories. Rick reminds me that our high school principal caught us making out behind the gym – I cringe in embarrassment, but I’m forced to laugh. Only he knows the depth of my humiliation from that moment, and I love him even more for being able to poke fun at me while reminding me that I’ve come a long way from being a silly teenager. Reminiscing about past successes, challenges you overcame together, and awkward stages you both grew out of will remind you of how much your partner accepts you for who you are, and will walk with you through whatever comes in the future!
We will definitely be back to this cute lil’ place!
3. Share the Radio. Even when your ears bleed. Giving your partner control over the tunage may sound like a simple and easy task. In a world where we can so easily change things to our liking, it’s good to give up a little control and let your partner have their way. Love is about sacrifice after all, right? Don’t complain during this challenge – you might ruin the chance to make fun of you partner’s karaoke voice!
Enjoying the Ride. You’d Never Know that Ludacris is Playing in the Background!
