I’m all about those lovely summer picnics, but during the winter months… how can I put it? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
There was a time I just couldn’t handle any al fresco meals, walks, or even walks to the car during winter. My morning-after skin hangover just wasn’t worth it. You know – that subtle, yet annoying, white, lacy skin that you’re oh-so-tempted-to-pick-off-but-too-scared-to-because-you-don’t-want-to-make-that-foundation-look-even-worse kind of skin.
Thankfully, I came across a few natural products last season that changed how I felt about stepping out on the town during December. At first, I wasn’t even aware these new favs were natural and organic. They instantly boosted my skin’s glow and kept it hydrated, and once they began to firm the texture too, I had no trouble repurchasing.
If your skin dries out from chilly wind, dropped temps, and that toasty in-door heater, these products are a must this season.
Created by a gastroenterologist, TULA products contain bifida ferment and yogurt extracts. Their special little formula is not only affordable, it’s effective! Remember, if you want fast results from a product, it DOES NOT need to be greasy, expensive, or harsh. TULA is none of these. With probiotic technology (yes, think of the micro bacteria that helps with your digestive health), Dr. Raj developed a product line that gets just as deep into that largest organ of your body (your skin). (Check out my Insta page HERE to enter a little early Christmas giveaway since I know tons of you are traveling in dry airline cabins to the North Pole and beyond.)#2 Yes To
After a hard day’s work, I gently cleanse with my TULA wash, then layer on any one of Yes To’s masks. My personal favorites are the cooling cucumber and sweet grapefruit. The Vitamin C in these helps build up that collagen (or that very important lil’ thing that helps your skin stay toned).
And last, but never least, the perfect shade of pinky-natural lipstick inspired by organic ingredients from this Vancouver-based typographer, helps me venture out into the cold without coming home with peeling or champed lips. My favorite shade is “Nobody’s Baby.” You can say it’s a personal favorite for winter nights to help me remind Mr.Mag that I am not even close to warming up to the idea of baring those twins he keeps joking about. Can somebody find a jacket for this man? – a straight jacket even, he’s crazy!
As difficult as it can be to find products that work, I hope this article makes it easy for you to achieve confidence in your winter skincare routine. Don’t be sold by fancy words on labels. I’ve dealt with acne, scars, and annoyingly dry skin for the longest time. Honestly, it kept me from enjoying a lot more dates than it should have. The simplier I’ve kept the ingredients in my routine, the more my skin balanced out. I hope yours isn’t afraid to chill out after using these too! 😉
