My TOP 10 Philadelphia Coffee Guide

Philadelphia Coffee Guide

February 5, 2018

Good Morning, good morning! Now that we are at the tail end (*haha, get it, The Eagles?) of the Superbowl, and it’s Monday. So I thought there was no better way to celebrate Philadelphia and all it’s caffeinated glory than to share my Philly favorite coffee guide.

—–

Each spot has it’s own unique flavor roasted bean, atmosphere, and design. And like everything in the City of Brotherly Love, each one has it’s own unique charm.

Along with each café’s address and hours, I’m sharing what I believe to be each coffee house’s highlight and strength. So whether you need a quick bite, or want to linger for the Wifi, this guide will be your go-to for what’s hot in Philly! (no pun intended :)).

Philadelphia Coffee Guide

Meg’s TOP 10 Philadelphia favorite coffee shops:

  1. Chestnut Hill Coffee Company

Address: 8620 Germantown Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19118

Hours: 7 AM – 6 PM Everyday

This little gem is tucked away at the top of the hill in the quaintest neighborhood of Chestnut Hill. The smell of beans roasting in house is worth studying earlier in the day. Fresh beans = fresh coffee — You won’t want to miss Chestnut Hill’s famous Vanilla Latte! Their vanilla adds a certain sweetness to their freshly roasted beans, and remind me of Lucky Charms – it’s was definitely my pot of gold on snowy, rainy Philadelphia mornings during graduate school. For extra seating, and people + street watching, march upstairs to their cozy alcove. Next to this Euro-vibed café, you’ll find a charming co-op, antique markets, and new dine-in bistros. Chestnut Hill Coffee Co. is my ABSOLUTE #1 favorite coffee spot in all of Philadelphia, without a doubt.

If you’re in need of a more substantial breakfast due to your shenanigans the night before, they’ve got you covered with a hydrating espresso and coconut water cup o’ post hangover coffee. Green Engine’s pan de chocolate is their piece de resistance.

La Colombe knows coffee, and these 2 founders pride themselves on fair trade and innovation. Check out their educational guide – here: https://www.lacolombe.com/blogs/brew-guides. And if you’re not close enough to catch a draft, check out your local organic grocer. Chances are you can enjoy a canned draft at home!

My personal favorites are the Green Tea blends and their Chai’s are insane. I like to mix it up when studying here, and Steep and Grind is perfection for creating signature tea lattes. Pumpkin Spice Green Tea Chai. Yes, it’s a thing. No, I don’t care that’s a lil’ extra complicated – it’s heaven. Enjoy!

  1. Jezabel’s Café
