Good Morning, good morning! Now that we are at the tail end (*haha, get it, The Eagles?) of the Superbowl, and it’s Monday, I thought there was no better way to celebrate Philadelphia and all it’s caffeinated glory than to share my Philly favorite coffee guide.
Each spot has it’s own unique flavor of roasted bean, atmosphere, and design. And like everything in the City o f Brotherly Love, each one has it’s own unique charm set in it’s own neighborhood.
Along with each café’s address and hours, I’m sharing what I believe to be each coffee house’s highlight and strength. Whether you need a quick bite, or want to linger for the Wifi this guide will be your go-to for what’s hot in Philly! (*Get it, hot? Haha).
Meg’s TOP 10 Philadelphia favorite coffee shops:

This little gem is tucked away at the top of the hill in the quaintest neighborhood of Chestnut Hill. The smell of beans roasting in house is worth studying earlier in the day. You won’t want to miss Chestnut Hill’s famous Vanilla Latte! Their syrup reminds me of Lucky Charms. Head upstairs to study and overlook the street, or stay downstairs with the neighborhood doggies stopping by. Next to this Euro-vibed café, you’ll find a co-op, antique markets, and new dine-in bistros. It’s my #1 favorite coffee spot in all of Philadelphia.
Address: 16 Haverford Station Rd, Haverford, PA 19041
This work and play coffee house is where you can hear “Stay Woke” and soak up the fresh oxygen of the café’s own plan wall. Enjoy the most delicious avocado toast that comes with pickled onions and pumpkin seeds. If you’re in need of a more substantial breakfast because of the night before, they’ve got you covered with espresso and coconut water. Green Engine’s pan de chocolate is their piece de resistance.
Address: 4360 Main St

Bike or walk to this hot spot. Parking off the main street, you’ll find more luck. VOLO has a perfect blend of sweet iced coffees before you chow down at any of the near by restaurants. Come early to get a bright window seat where you catch the bright morning light and hear the train whiz by.

This is my favorite place on rainy days. With large window fronts you can watch any downpour with delight. I dig this coffee spot’s baked good – zuchinni bread or homemade cookies for the win.

All drinks are named after inspirational people! You could even check out and borrow a book from the back porch library. Grab a homemade cookie, and lounge around like you do at your favorite aunt’s house. Study for a bit, play a board game, or bring by the kiddies. This rad pad lets you spike your lattes and still has a stack diapers and wipes in the bathroom for the baby in case you forgot yours. The.best.community.coffee.shop. Here are a few of our favorite people at this place: Angela Davis (lavender white mocha), Alice Walker (matcha vanilla milk), Cesar Chavez (cocoa spice), Dorthy Day (mint mocha), and MLK Jr (peanut butter mocha).

With 4 Philadelphia locations, you too can easily enjoy draft lattes at La Colombe. My personal favorite is the FIshtown location. The grand entrance alone is cause to stop. La Colombe knows coffee, and these 2 founders pride themselves on fair trade and innovation. Check out their educational guide – here: https://www.lacolombe.com/blogs/brew-guides. And if you’re not close enough to catch a draft, check out your local organic grocer. Chances are you can enjoy a canned draft at home!

The wall of teas will make you question whether you should give up coffee for good. With Steep and Grind’s wide variety, the drink options are endless! My personal favorites are the Green Tea blends and their Chai’s are insane. I like to mix it up when studying here, and Steep and Grind is perfection for creating signature tea lattes. Pumpkin Spice Green Tea Chai. Yes, it’s a thing. Enjoy!

If you like cookies, and coffee there is no other place to go, except Jezabel’s. Her Argentinian cookies “Alfajores” are so famous, you can even ship them cross-country! Try an empanada and you will not be disappointed. Our favorite quiches include zucchini and leek. Their classic cups of coffee hit the spot, or enjoy a yerba mate if that’s more your style.
